White Pine is strong, yet light. White Pine offers an incredible weight-to-performance ratio in terms of structural integrity due to its cellular structure. This makes it a good option when compared to other wood species or building materials. Additionally, proper kiln-drying of White Pine removes nearly all of the water trapped inside the wood, which eliminates that unnecessary weight, leaving a structurally-sound wood that is much easier to manage during the cabin construction process. Kiln drying also acts to pre-shrink the wood before milling, which produces greater long-term stability by minimizing any future expansion or contraction of the wood.

White Pine is a good choice when it comes to wood cabin builds. Some of the benefits of White Pine is that it has a straight, even grain pattern that lends to its overall sophisticated look. White Pine is a beautiful choice when it comes to log house construction and cabin building. The wood is versatile and offers strength that helps to contribute to its popularity in cabin building across North America.
